What is MovieKnob?+
MovieKnob is an online platform for movie and TV show lovers. We provide detailed information, reviews, curated content, and video streaming all in one place. Whether you're looking to discover new films, read in-depth reviews, or stream your favourites, MovieKnob has you covered.
Do I need an account to use MovieKnob?+
Yes. MovieKnob requires you to register a free account before accessing any content. Registration only takes a minute — all you need is your name and email address.
💡Creating an account also saves your watch history, watchlist, and preferences across devices.
How do I create a MovieKnob account?+
Visit movieknob.com and click Sign Up. Enter your full name and email address, create a secure password, then verify your email via the confirmation link we send. Once verified, you're in — no waiting required.
What devices can I use MovieKnob on?+
MovieKnob is accessible via any modern web browser on desktop, laptop, tablet, and mobile devices. We recommend using the latest version of Chrome, Firefox, Safari, or Edge for the best experience.
Is MovieKnob available in my country?+
MovieKnob is available globally. However, some streaming content may be restricted in certain regions due to licensing agreements. The information and reviews sections are available everywhere with no restrictions.

Account & Registration

How do I reset my password?+
Go to the login page and click "Forgot Password?". Enter your registered email and we'll send a reset link that expires after 30 minutes. If you don't receive the email, check your spam folder or contact support@movieknob.com.
How do I update my email address or profile information?+
Log in and go to Account Settings > Profile. You can update your name, email, and profile picture. Changing your email requires re-verification via the new address.
Can I have multiple accounts?+
Each person is permitted one account per email address. Creating multiple accounts to circumvent restrictions is a violation of our Terms of Use and may result in all associated accounts being suspended.
How do I delete my account?+
Go to Account Settings > Danger Zone > Delete Account. Note: deletion is permanent and irreversible. All data, history, and preferences will be removed. Cancel any active Premium subscription first.
⚠️Consider downloading your data before deleting. Contact support@movieknob.com for help.
How do I request a copy of my personal data?+
Email privacy@movieknob.com with the subject "Data Access Request". We'll respond within 15–30 business days after verifying your identity.

Free vs Premium Plans

What is the difference between the Free and Premium plans?+
Free Plan gives access to movie/TV information, reviews, and selected content — with ads.

Premium Plan unlocks full streaming, ad-free experience, offline downloads, HD quality, and priority access to new content.

Is the Free plan really free forever?+
Yes. The Free plan is free indefinitely — no credit card required and no hidden fees. Any future changes will be communicated well in advance.
How do I upgrade to Premium?+
Go to Account Settings > Subscription > Upgrade to Premium. Choose your billing cycle, enter payment details via Paystack, and confirm. Access activates instantly.
Can I switch back from Premium to Free?+
Yes. Cancel anytime and you'll retain Premium access until the end of the billing period, then automatically revert to Free.
Are there ads on MovieKnob?+
Free plan users see advertisements. Premium users enjoy a completely ad-free experience. We do not sell your personal data to advertisers.

Billing & Payments

What payment methods does MovieKnob accept?+
Payments are processed securely through Paystack. We accept debit cards, credit cards (Visa, Mastercard), and bank transfers. Available options may vary by country.
When will I be charged?+
Your subscription renews automatically on the same date each billing cycle. View your next billing date in Account Settings > Subscription.
Is my payment information secure?+
Yes. MovieKnob never stores your card details on our servers. All payments are handled by Paystack, which is PCI-DSS compliant. Review their practices at paystack.com/privacy.
Why was my payment declined?+
Common causes: insufficient funds, expired card, incorrect details, or your bank blocking the transaction. Try verifying your card details, contacting your bank, or using a different payment method. Still stuck? Email support@movieknob.com.
How do I get a billing receipt or invoice?+
A receipt is sent to your registered email after each successful payment. You can also download your full billing history from Account Settings > Billing History.

Streaming & Content

What internet speed do I need for streaming?+
Recommended minimum speeds:
  • SD: 3 Mbps
  • HD (720p): 5 Mbps
  • Full HD (1080p): 10 Mbps
MovieKnob automatically adjusts quality to your connection speed.
Why is my video buffering or not playing?+
Usually caused by a slow connection. Try: refreshing the page, lowering video quality, closing bandwidth-heavy apps, or switching to a stronger network. If it persists, contact support@movieknob.com with your device and browser details.
Why is a specific movie or show no longer available?+
Content availability is governed by licensing agreements with studios and distributors. Titles may be added or removed at any time — we cannot guarantee permanent availability of any specific content.
Can I watch content in HD or 4K?+
Premium subscribers can stream in HD (up to 1080p) where supported. 4K depends on the title and your device. Free plan users stream in SD only.
How many devices can I stream on simultaneously?+
Currently MovieKnob supports one simultaneous stream per account. Starting a stream on a second device will pause the first. Multi-screen plans may be introduced in future.

Offline & Downloads

Can I download content to watch offline?+
Yes — offline downloads are available exclusively for Premium subscribers. Tap the download icon on any supported title to save it to your device.
💡Not all titles support downloads due to licensing restrictions. Downloadable titles are clearly marked.
How long do downloaded titles stay available?+
Downloads are available for 30 days from download date. Once you start watching, you have 48 hours to finish before expiry. Downloads also require an active Premium subscription.
How many titles can I download at once?+
Premium subscribers can store up to 10 downloaded titles per device. Delete an existing download to make room for a new one.
Can I transfer downloaded content to another device?+
No. Downloads are tied to the device they were saved on and cannot be transferred. You can download the same title independently on another device.

Cancellation & Refunds

How do I cancel my Premium subscription?+
Go to Account Settings > Subscription > Cancel Subscription. You keep Premium access until the end of the billing period, then revert to Free automatically.
💡You'll receive a confirmation email once cancelled — keep it for your records.
Can I get a refund for my Premium subscription?+
Fees are generally non-refundable once a billing period starts. However, we review requests case by case. If charged in error or you experienced major service issues, email support@movieknob.com within 7 days of the charge.
What happens to my data when I cancel?+
Cancelling Premium does not delete your account or data. Your watch history, watchlist, and profile remain intact on the Free plan. To fully delete your account, use Account Settings.
Can I re-subscribe to Premium after cancelling?+
Absolutely. Re-subscribe anytime from Account Settings > Subscription. Your watch history and preferences will be right where you left them.
